Passing of Paul Larson - March 13, 2007 - Thursday, March 15, 2007

BBB Brother Tony Stayer sends the following announcement with much sadness:

Well I findly found the Paul Larson that I served with  in the 1st Infantry Div. and the Americal Div. I have been looking for Paul for several years, but it wasn't until last year when we had our big reunion that I decided to be a little more serious about locating Paul. .....I found out that Ski (Zarzyski) had access to to many of the graduating class records of the NCO school and was able to locate Paul's graduating class in the later part of 1969 from that information I was able to locate Paul. His home address was 13915 Galway Ct; Saint Paul, Mn. 55124-7333. After making several attempts, over several days, to only get a answering machine, I was beginning to wonder if I would ever get a  hold of anybody. Today, I got a call from his wife, she told me that they had received my message several days ago, and that Paul could not remember my name and thought that I was trying to get a hold of the wrong Paul Larson. I sure wish he had called, I know that I could have told him enough stories that his memory would have been revived. His wife told me that Paul was a mail carrier and that he had diabetes and that he was indeed the Paul Larson that I had been seeking. She Knew this because she had a copy of his DD-214 in front of her. You see she had just returned from making funeral arrangements for Paul. He was involved in an auto accident yesterday. His wife thinks that his diabetes had caused him to be disorientated and his trunk went off the road striking a mailbox and then some trees. It killed him instantly. This was such a shock to me, to have reached a good friend and brother after all these years of searching only to find out that he had been killed the day before. It just goes to show that we need to take opportunity to reach all those lost brothers out there.
